A Withering Tree...

About a week ago I woke up with a wonderful thought in my head. I was a tree planted by a stream. My roots delved deep into the earth to soak up that water. It refreshes me, that water.

He is like a tree planted by streams of living water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers. Psalm1:3

But lately, I just don't feel refreshed. I feel dry and very thirsty. My leaves are brittle and beginning to fall. Nothing I do seems to be right and I wonder 'where has God gone.'

I feel I have done or am doing what God has asked of me. Why can't I hear him?
Why don't I feel his presence? Is there something else in my heart that I need to repent of?

Lord, please come back and refresh me. Show me if there isn't a right attitude in my heart. Help me to feel your presence in my life. I'm here every morning Lord to spend time with you yet I still walk away dull. Where are you? Please show me what you want me to do. For now Lord, I will just meditate on the fact that your grace is enough. In Jesus' name and all according to your will, Amen

Cheri,
I totally understand. We all go through times of feeling dried up and withered.

But you are doing what you need to do. You are keeping your face towards Him. You are praying and seeking His face. And even though we cannot "feel" Him during these times, He is still doing a work in us.

But I know how frustrating these times feel. I cannot list how many times I have been there.

I will be praying for you, and you just keep on pressing in. Keep holding onto His Word. This time will not last forever, even though it may feel like it.

All of this is stuff you know, so I hope I do not end up sounding irritating! Just know you are not alone. We have all been there!

Hey.....just thought of something! Have you ever heard "Never Alone" by Barlow Girl? If not, you need to go to YouTube and listen to it today. SUCH an awesome song!

Love you, friend!

Cheri,
I have to agree with Kimberley, we all go thru a dry period. But what is so great to know is that even though it is dry spell for us ...God never leaves us, His word says He will never leave nor forsake us. He is waiting with open arms, saying, "Cheri...I have so much more for you...come"

Not too long ago, you made a chose to commit to spending early hours with your Lord, and I am sure that the enemy hates that and will go to great lengths to sabatoge the drawing, and the closeness of you and God.

Just keep on doing what you are doing...praying, seeking, worshipping, being thankful, reading His Word and God will meet you where you are at.

I am praying for you today. -love, Laurie

Hey girl! Last night, Carol Kent had some quote that said something like when we feel like God is silent and when we don't feel Him near, that is when true faith is grown.

Keep the faith growing, girl!

He's there! Just keep crying out to Him...I agree with everything posted in these comments!

Know that I am praying for you! Remember, He tells us when we seek Him with all our heart, we will find Him...don't stop!

Oh Cheri, He has such great things for you! Hang on!

Anticipating HIM
