Blessings

Today is Friday. I woke up early this morning with the word luck on my mind. I used to say that word alot.

We should feel lucky that you have a job right now. or

We're so lucky that our children are healthy.

I learned a long time ago that luck doesn't have anything to do with it. Now I replace that word with the word blessed. I often still write the word luck and then go back and put blessed in it's place.

It's a reminder from God that he's in control of everything.

I know I'm blessed. I think about it everyday...but today I feel it in my bones.

Here is a picture of some of what God has blessed me with. But, beyond the edges of this picture there is so much more. Thank you God for all that I have.
You can't ever get them all to look at the camera and smile at the same time, can you? :)

Such a beautiful family, Cheri!

My oldest daughter and I were actually just talking about luck versus being blessed yesterday. That word slips into their speech and even our own so easily. You are so right! It is good to stop and remember that nothing is by chance. We have an amazing heavenly Father who pours out blessings on us constantly!

Hope you guys have a terrific weekend! (And you were sweet to "catch up" today. I wouldn't ever expect that. I'm just blessed you come by! You are such an encourager!)
Love ya',

Thank you for such an eloquent way of reminding us that we are blessed. Anything that can be in a picture and even the breath and ability to take the picture are all gifts from our Heavenly Father.

What a heart of thanksgiving to wake up feeling that way, it takes me a few cups of coffee and my quiet time to get straight, but that is the other wonderful gift, Grace and Mercy were are so blessed.

Enjoy your blessings and thanks for sharing the encouragement and idea to "picture our blessing".

I know what you mean...that word lucky just seems to come out, even though it doesn't exist.

Amen! Luck has nothing to do with it. God is in control at all times. I have a bad habit of using the word "LUCK" ...it is very hard to break. I have tried, but ususally it is after I have already said the word that I remember to not say it. Oops! Then try to correct and then feel like an idiot. LOL
Probably, about a year ago our pastor used this in a sermon on how much we use luck and it has nothing to do with it. I had really never thought about it till then. Thanks for reminding me ...that we are so blessed!

You have a fabulous family! Love the picture!
Have a great weekend!

That is so funny that you posted this b/c I have had this conversation twice in the recent past. Once, just a couple of days ago with Alan. We were talking about how we always say "Good luck." We decided to replace it with "Sweet Blessings" or "I wish you well."

And by the way...WOW, you look good! Can you send some skinny this way?

Oh how precious. You have a beautiful family. You are truly blessed. I will have to remember to cross out luck whenever I write it and replace it with blessed, thanks for the reminder.
