Pure Beauty

First of all I just want to say that what is here today is my jumbled thoughts all thrown together. I hope they make some sort of sense...

As I was driving down the interstate the other day my mind wandered to a time long ago.

It was a place with no road signs, no tall towers, and no pavement. It was just the Earth as God had created it in the beginning. My thoughts were caught up in a simpler time (maybe...no washing machines!) :)

I was surrounded by the beauty of God's creation. I mean, even now, I see how beautiful it all is, but for a moment there was nothing to distract away from that magnificence.

It got me to thinking of Job 38. It's one of my favorite places in the Bible. I'm amazed at how many times I end up in this same chapter.

I am just a speck of sand here on Earth yet he knows my name. He is in control of my life even when I think I'm so big I can handle it myself. This scripture puts me in my place so to speak.

I have huge significance in this world yet there is someone who is more significant. There is someone who is in control...and it's not me.

I am finding myself praying more to my Father in heaven than I have for a long time. I find myself not spending as much time in his word but in conversation with him. I used to get down on myself when I wouldn't spend that time in the Bible gobbling up all he has to say to me. In this time I am simply listening more for his voice prompting me to talk with him.

If I had the patience :) I would type out all of Job 38 for you. But, I urge all of you to take a few minutes today and let God show you who is REALLY in control of your life!

PRAY WITHOUT CEASING!! GOD CAN CHANGE THINGS IF IT"S MEANT TO BE!!

Cheri, theres nothing like spending time with our Father, whether in His Word or being still in His presence. He longs to be with us and for us to know Him. Good to hear from you, hope you are having a wonderful summer! -blessings, Laurie

I agree with Stephanie. except I call them V8 moments. You know like the V8 commercial? I had a V8 moment just this last week ...God was telling me loud and clear that I have an area I need to work on. I finally realized it. Don't you just love God's sense of humor? I knew when I finally understood that he was probably laughing and saying "about time"!

I too have missed you!

Have a fabulous day!

I am so glad He is in control because if I was I am sure my life would be utter chaos. I am going to take your advice and listen more. I am a talker so sometimes just listening is hard for me.

"Let all the earth fear the LORD; let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of Him. For He spoke, and it was done; He commanded, and it stood fast." Psalm 33:8-9

Reverence the Lord, stand in awe of the beauty of His creation; for He is great and greatly to be praised. I think so many times when neglect "being still" before the Lord and end up missing out on so many things. I know that I need to be reminded to just sit at His feet and listen to Him speak. Thanks for sharing your heart! It's good to hear from you.

Blessings,
Jenifer

Hey, Cheri!
Talking to Him...that is so very important. I can get so "busy" even with having a quiet time that I forget to actually be quiet and listen to Him! I'm glad you have been having this time with Him. May you hear clearly all of the treasures He has stored up for you.
Love you! Happy summer!

Oh, I love Job 38 and 29 despite it is the account of Job's being taken to the heavenly woodshed!! It reminds me of how HUGE God is and how small I am. It also reminds me that He is able to handle whatever comes up.

Cheri, I am glad you posted I have missed your writings. Spending time with Him is what is important, sometimes He wants our undivided attention and just wants to talk to us directly to our heart. Don't beat yourself up, ask your Father if you are purely spending time with Him and if He does not show you something wrong with not being in His word as much then, as you said He is the boss. Praise and Worship Him and He will lead you to His feet for a chat or to His word when the time is right. Remember He is all present and can be worshipped anywhere with the proper heart. Embrace your freedom to worship :)

Thank you for the reminder based on Job 38...what a beautiful picture of the greatness of our God! When we have who He is in right perspective, then we can have a right perspective of who we are...and oh, how that shrinks our trials!! praise our BIG God!

One song we have sung lately at church depicts this so well "Mighty to Save"...what a God we serve! Amen?!
