Please pray for our young girls

My daughter hasn't heard from her biological father in 5 months now. It's not the first time this has happened and I'm sure it won't be the last. I do thank God everyday for my husband. He has been in our lives since Dallas was one and a half years old, so she doesn't remember a day without him. But I wonder what she really feels inside. Sometimes she shares with me and other times she says nothing. Please pray for her.

How painful it must be for all the young girls who face the same situation. I can't help but feel it has to affect their self esteem. I only hope that my husband being in our lives for so long has helped with that. I hope she notices him kissing me and telling me how beautiful I am. I hope it will help her to know how a man is really supposed to treat a woman. I hope that detours her from bad decisions later in life. I hope she knows she is worthy of all good things.

Then there is the teenager who emails me. She is cutting herself and the last time she did, it took a long time to stop bleeding. The kids at her school tell her she should just kill herself. I try my hardest to convince her to get help. I have sent links to websites and hot line numbers for her. But, there is only so much I can do. So I pray for her. Would you pray for her too? She says she is always alone and that her parents could care less about her. I hope she will be okay. My heart aches for her. I hope she knows she is worthy of all good things.

Any young girl out there reading this...please know you are not alone. EVER. God is beside you whispering in your ear, "I love you."

If you need to talk, email me at kcnace@kc.rr.com You can rise above the past. Trust me- because I know.

Praying for your daughter and her relationship with her father.

Cheri, you are an awesome example, friend, mother-figure, and mentor to so many young girls! Praying for you as you minister to them and show them the love of Jesus.

Blessings to you sweet friend,
Jenifer

Oh, my goodness. I'm so sorry Cheri. I will pray for Dallas and your little friend. You have such a gift. I can see it peeking its head out. Someday, it will completely be revealed and you my friend will find yourself standing on stage pouring into the lives of women - teenage women I'm thinking. Have you thought about being a speaker? You have both the heart and the passion for it. Just a little food for thought.

This hits close to home for me as well. My older three children are from my first marriage. Their father is in their lives, but on his terms, irrelevant to their needs or desires. Like you, I have been blessed with a wonderful new beginning. My husband is a much larger part of their lives, because he is in their lives everyday, but also because he is stable. They know that he will be there if they need him.

I too wonder what my daughter thinks. Less than two years ago, my daughter was headed down a path of destruction in an attempt to get her father's attention. She was shoplifting (although she was never caught at a store, I punished her when I found out), she stole classmates' cell phones, and was signing up for dating sites when visiting her dad online.

But I believe that God takes care of our daughters. And He is taking care of yours also.

As for your little friend, we will continue to pray. It seems that junior high school is such a period of turmoil and adjustment. We have girls around us with similar issues and we are praying to be good witnesses to them as well.

Thanks for praying for me. It helps! And I continue to pray for you.

My daughter hasn't seen her biological father in 10 years. Sometimes he e-mails but rarely. She is very close to my husband since he has raised her from a 3 year old. She is 18 and is strong in her faith and gravitates toward men like my husband. She doesn't date, but has friends who emulate the things that are good and not bad.

I will pray for Dallas. I know from my husband and his sister, there are things that they struggle with as adults that I can't begin to imagine. Dallas is so blessed to have godly parents showing her how a godly man treats his wife...

And your young friend...that has just so burdened my heart. Praying for her too...

It's good to see you posting again!

Cheri,
I have often seen your comments over on Tammy's blog, but just today made the time to come over here! I'm glad I landed on this post. My husband (soon to be former) left his first marriage when his daughter was less than 3. Long story short...she and I now have a relationship that only God could have done. Now I pray for my own children as they watch their dad walk out! All this to say, I will pray for Dallas. She is certainly blessed to have your husband in her life and I pray (as you do) that God will use him mightily in her life.

I also know many young girls who used to "cut", what a heartbreaking place to be. So glad that this girl has a safe place in you. You must be an amazing woman.

Okay, now that I have written you a book...I will read more of your blog.
